My Sydney, Milton & King
The My Sydney Collection captures the essence of Sydney, transforming its vibrant flora, unique wildlife, and serene landscapes into elegant, high-quality wallcoverings. Inspired by designer Bethany Linz’s personal connection to her home city, the collection reflects the beauty and nostalgia in the everyday—cascading wisteria, graceful water birds, and the timeless night sky.
Celebrating artistry and connection, the collection features bold florals, serene murals, and intricate patterns that blend timeless elegance with contemporary design. My Sydney invites you to transform your space with the natural charm and cultural richness of this iconic city.
Palm Landscape
I’ll never forget, when I was on a school camp, it was summer so extremely hot. We were walking near the Hawkesbury River, just out of Sydney, and suddenly this view of lushes palm trees looking over aqua water appeared out of nowhere, they were amongst the Australian gumtrees, so out of place, it felt like Queensland. It was a little oasis I’ll never forget.
This wallpaper also symbolises how in my lifetime, Sydney is becoming more tropical in its demeanour. The sounds from the birds and insects that are moving down the coast from warmer states, the humidity and the plant variety becoming more tropical.
I guess I sign of global warming.
The Race At Hyde Park
Step back into Sydney’s Victorian past with The Race at Hyde Park Mural, a romantic and picturesque depiction of a gentlemanly horse race set among Hyde Park’s iconic palms and open landscapes. Inspired by traditional Victorian-era art, designer Bethany Linz has carefully
reimagined this classic activity into an expansive repeating mural, rich with historical charm and natural beauty. Available in the green of the original artwork, a striking indigo wash, and a timeless beige, The Race at Hyde Park adds depth, elegance, and a touch of nostalgia to any space.
Water Bird & Grand Water Bird
I walk everyday across a water inlet from the harbour, where birds walk through the water and reeds to feed on fish and insects.
I love their elegant necks and beaks. The way they hold one leg up while they stand.
I looked at Chinese and Japanese screens for inspiration on how I was going to do the rocks and water, hence the slight oriental feel of this design.
Hibiscus At Double Bay
Double Bay for those who don’t know, is a beautiful suburb nestled in on the Sydney Harbour. Its streets lined with giant fig trees, stunning boutique shops and my kids favourite little bay.
This design was inspired by the beautiful variety of native and non native Hibiscus flowers that my kids love to look at along the bay. The flower really is quite exquisite. I think those 70’s Hawaii shirts need to be forgotten and let the Hibiscus re-invent itself!
Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Garden was my family’s escape during the covid period. I place where we could escape and enjoy the beauty of nature and fresh air.
This design was originally painted by an unknown 18th-century illustrator. I loved the delicacy of the trees, the colours the artist used, the perfectly manicured paths and the people simply taking in the magic of nature. I knew I had to create a mural out of these paintings. As hard and timely as that was, I love the end result.
Wisteria
I have always loved wisteria, the colour, the smell and the way the flower drops so elegantly from the vine.
When we bought our house, being a lover of plants, I wanted my front porch framed in Wisteria. So I planted a beautiful oriental variety, only one problem, it refuses to flower! Years now have passed, our house is beautifully framed by the lush vine but with now flowers insight. So I decided to be positive and celebrate the beauty of this vine without its famous flowers.
The result I think is very elegant and once again makes homage to Chinese chinoiserie.
